The Iola Amateur Radio Club (IARC) is located in Iola, KS.  It was formed in November 2007 by Red Robert (AA7CP) and Ralph Romig (WA0KHV).  The current officers are:

The club started with 12 members, and has since grown to over 20, generating many newly-licensed hams.

We have a 2 meter repeater situated in Gas City at an elevation of 140 feet, using the call sign WI0LA.  The output of the repeater is on 147.375 MHz, input on 147.975 MHz, with a PL tone of 179.9 Hz.  We also have a 70cm repeater located on the same tower, 442.450 output, 447.450 input, also with a PL Tone of 179.9.  During times of repeater outage, please use the simplex frequency of 146.580 MHz.

IARC works with the Allen County Sherrif's office during severe storms.  During these times, a command center will be established at the Emergency Operations building, and operators will be assigned locations to report to.  Please keep the repeater clear for emergency traffic during these occasions.

Our meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month at 7pm in the Iola city courtroom at 2 W Jackson St (North side of the Iola Square).  We are registered with the ARRL VEC to perform VE testing - if you would like to test, please contact Jeremy at 620-625-0647 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
